The Island of Boracay

I finally had some "Me Time" after working so hard for the past year. This was actually one of my very rare travels and I have enjoyed this outing I had with my girlfriends.

We have decided to go to Boracay Island. (Disclaimer: This trip was already booked before we even knew that typhoon "Haiyan" was coming.) After the storm, we were thinking that the island may have been devastated but it's a good thing that the place survived the tragedy.

I only noticed two effects of the aftermath of the storm: 1.) The Electricity rotation - where in we only have electricity from 6:00 pm to 8:00 am and 2.) Poor Cellphone Signal.

I can say though that all my best shoot came from this island. I hope you would enjoy it as much as I enjoyed shooting it... :)

FACADE - This was taken outside our hotel room - Pearl of the Pacific in Station One, Boracay

Exploring the Island for the first time

The Boat - one lucky shot! It's like the boat is there to be photographed nicely next to the other boat in the middle of the sea.

The Slipper -- Not ours though! :P

Three Shadows - with me and my girlfriends

I love this dog so much. It's as if he really wants to have his photo taken as he smiled for the camera.
Captain Ship

Look Up - Shot from under the bamboo set

Saving the best for last - This pristine Boracay sunset is part of what I came here for.

Hoping that I could still come back here, and hope that it happened soon...

OFFICIALLY PROMOTING MY SISTER'S BOOK OMNIPRESENCE: The Rise of the Gatekeeper - Book One of the Orbs of Power

I am so proud to announce the official published work of my sister D.S Quinio. It is an amazing book of fantasy about Orbs, Archangels, Conjurers and many more...

Omnipresence: The Rise of the Gatekeeper - Book One if the Orbs of Power would probably match to those wonderful fantasies that we have seen in series like LOTR or Harry Potter. But the story is quite as interesting as we don't know what's gonna happen next:

Manila Street Shoot

Among the shoots that I have done, this is probably my favorite. We are Manila bound, riding in a car with my camera on hand. As we go along I'm seeing some unique scenes that are picture worthy so I have decided to take a few shots until I realized I took more than I could post.

Defining Irony

These are the less fortune people who doesn't have a home. They would beg at night and sleep in the morning. I find this really ironic as the bank is where people go to, to keep their money; and the people sleeping outside the bank have nothing but the clothes that they are wearing.

Jay Walking

This walis vendor is walking along Coastal Road (one major highway in Manila) despite the sign Bawal Tumawid (Do not Cross the street), as he had to make a livingfor himself and his family.

Room for Rent

This was in Delpan Tondo Manila, where the houses of illegal settlers were demolished.

One with Mother Nature

I had the chance to go on leave for about a week and I was able to go to Pink Sister's Convent in Tagaytay City for my birthday. I took the opportunity to shoot photos here:

How it turned out is something surprising (it even surprised me) as it became my first ever Nature shoot.

A Little Piece of Heaven

The cemetery... One of the rarest places that people go to and yet I seem to find a little piece of heaven whenever I come here.

Not a lot of people appreciates the beauty of solitude in cemeteries, but instead, most would fear seeing ghost whenever they come to this kinds of places...

Here are some of that I have taken:

 BLACK AND WHITE

I think by now, I have established that I'm not really that good in creating captions for my photos. These are taken as I see the beauty in every image. I have rarely taken a picture that has an exact story to it. Somehow I think it gives a leeway for imagination, for my readers to create a story for whatever they see (or feel) in every image shown.

The Black and White Shots:

Looking at the World with a Bit of Color

My usual medium in shooting pictures is Black and White. I am usually seeing the drama and the nostalgia in monochrome. Shooting in a cemetery adds a depressing feel to black in white images, that I thought of looking at it in a different perspective...
